GREG ABATE Sunday, January 16th

The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences Committee recently placed Greg on the Official Ballot f the 2005 Grammy Awards for Album of the Year, Best Jazz Instrumental Solo, Best Jazz Instrumental Album and Best Instrumental Arrangement. Needless to say, Greg’s career is soaring. A long history of performing with both Ray Charles, Artie Shaw, and free lance around the world, Greg is known for his command of his alto sax as he burns be-bop solos "with an abundance of gentle self-confidence… with sweetness and daring."

SHAWNN MONTEIRO Sunday, February 13th

As daughter of renowned bassist, Jimmy Woode, veteran of the Duke Ellington Band, Shawnn’s vocal style is not without the influence of many great musicians. Touring year to year in both the USA and Europe, she’s described as "exciting, captivating and completely distinctive." She performs selections from what is known as the "American Songbook" with compositions by Porter, Gershwin and Ellington. A JOSA veteran, Shawnn says of the JOSA audience, "these people, they definitely get it...it’s a perfect audience." top of page
