The following describes the unique combination of management and hands-on
skills that took the Newport Opera House Association from a small, poorly
functioning arts organization to one that offered local and regional citizens
a thriving cultural performing arts center.
Administration & Management:
Developed and managed all operational finance and record keeping systems working with computer accounting software, spreadsheets, and databases, generating comprehensive reports thereby facilitating the ability to make informed decisions regarding future activities. This enabled the organization to assess its progress and entertain new and innovative programs to meet current and anticipated needs. Software programs used included QuickBooks and the Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, & Access.
Organized, up-graded and maintained numerous databases, facilitating ease in mail merge capabilities increasing the general customer mailing list by 400%.
Development & Fundraising:
Wrote and received grants from the NH Charitable Foundation and the NH State Council on the Arts, organized fund raising and membership drives, and developed event and capital sponsorship opportunities to fund specific and innovative programs, equipment purchases, salaries, and operational expenses.
Created a concessions department ultimately generating 17% of revenues.
Quadrupled overall operating budget during the 5 years tenure at the NOHA.
Promotion & Public Relations:
Established and nurtured relationships, and developed marketing strategies, working with local and regional businesses and individuals thereby enabling the NOHA to expand its patron base to include the entire New England region.
Revived and developed positive relations with local and regional government, media and community organizations.
Revived and developed community related programs resulting in increased attendance and memberships.

Personnel & Partnering:
Developed a multi-faceted volunteer force trained for ticket and concession sales and production activities including technical and point of public contact duties.
Participated with local and regional organizations such as the Town of Newport, the Newport Chamber of Commerce, NCTV, Economic Corporation Of Newport (ECON),
New London/Lake Sunapee Region Chamber of Commerce and Mt. Sunapee Resort.
Orchestrated board development, working with board consultants, by developing and documenting committee and committee chair role definitions.

Performed solo & ensemble work throughout New England & New York with a USO tour to Greenland.

Worked at Colby-Sawyer College, KAT Company and the Newport Opera House Association directing many musicals including Peter Pan, Wizard of Oz, Oliver! and Cabaret.

Artist on the Artist-In-Residence roster with the NH State Council on the Arts (1997-2004) - (production of theatrical pieces in schools throughout the state of NH integrating local history and story telling with music and acting.)
Developed and directed music programs for public and private schools including Proctor Academy in Andover, NH, and Bradford, Grantham, New London, Newport and Springfield, NH elementary schools.
